1st Edit: Photobooth Sequence.

This is the first edit of my music video, I have added a Bloom transition to create a camera flash effect, as if they were in a photobooth. I then freeze framed part of the clips to make it look like a picture was taken. I then added some colouring to see what it would look like on the colour correction sliders. Overall, I am not 100% sure on the colouring yet but this will be something I will work on for the final version.

1st Day Of Filming (30/1/15)

Today, I filmed in the green room at college to create a 'inside of a photobooth' effect. I was inspired by this clip I found off YouTube from the TV series 'Pretty Little Liars', which features a same sex relationship.

To film this, I used a Canon Legria HF R506 camera and a tripod, which was placed in front of a white background and I used specialist lighting to make it look professional. We also used some of the props in the green room to give off a fun and in love feel to it. There were some complications, such as I began filming without it actually recording anything because the SD card slot wasn't closed. My cast also felt a bit awkward doing this however I played some music to help them feel a bit more comfortable and at ease.
Here is what we filmed and hopefully after editing it, it will look somewhat similar to the video above. I purposely filmed for 2 minutes even though the shot in the video will be around 13 seconds long because I knew that my cast might have been nervous and might need to adjust to being in front of the camera. Overall, I am happy with what I have shot and will edit the colouring of the video, flash effect and others on Final Cut Pro. I am glad I  have started my filming on a good note, as it will make me more positive for the rest of the filming tomorrow as I was nervous that it wouldn't go as imagined in my head.

The Theory Of Montage

Preparation For Filming (9/2/15-12/2/15)

On the 9th February 2015 till 12th February 2015, I will be going to Berlin on a trip. I will be taking this opportunity to film Izzy and create some POV shots which could be included in one of the montage sequences. I feel like including a montage will give a more realistic and natural feel to the relationship rather than a forced one you can see in many music videos.
Here are some of the places where we will be going to in Berlin where I could film and also some of the city:

Preparation For Filming

Now that my final cast it sorted, I am now looking into filming in my pub locations for the performance element. This will be the most demanding aspect to film due to the use of a very specific location and getting my cast altogether. I have messaged The Sun Inn pub in Beverley, however if they do not reply I will telephone them.

When I returned home from college I rang up the Sun Inn about filming and they were very willing to let me film, however, Annie is unable to film due to work commitments so I decided that it will make more sense to film during the week days in half term, when she is likely to be available.

FINAL CAST

After having complications with my cast and the concept of my music video, I have finally got my final cast.
Natasha Newman
Natasha, is a graphics, media and drama student at Wyke Sixth Form College. She will be playing the main character in my video. Due to her keen interest in acting will make it easy for her to get into character and will feel comfortable around a camera. Natasha has a very old school glamour look which will make her appealing to look at. Natasha was also featured in my AS foundation portfolio, so I know that she will be reliable. Natasha will be playing the love interest to Izzy in my music video. She will be seen reflecting back on the relationship by looking through the scrap book.

Izzy Smart
Izzy will be playing the love interest to my main character (Natasha) in my music video. Izzy is a media, film and art student at Wyke Sixth Form College. Due to her keen interest in media and film she will be feel comfortable around a camera and can assist me when shots. Izzy has a very distinctive girl next door beauty, which will make her relatable to my audience. She will be seen in the flashbacks and in the scrapbook pictures.

Annie Harmeston
Annie Harmeston is a 17 year old singer/songwriter from East Yorkshire, she will be used as the artist in my music video and will also rerecord the track for the use of my video. Annie is also a photography student and has said that she will help me take the photographs when it comes to creating my ancillary texts. Annie also studies Music, which will be useful when it comes to rerecording the track.
